Grand Circus is excited to host a launch party celebrating the kickoff of the new Project  Rising TIDE initiative with the City of Grand Rapids. 

Project Rising TIDE is all about making sure everyone has access to earning a career in tech if they want one. Our goal is to connect local residents to introductory and advanced coding training opportunities while enhancing the talent pool to support local companies. We believe that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” By actively supporting both people and businesses, we all grow stronger together.

West Michigan IT companies were awarded around $400,000 in training reimbursement last year. We want to help more technology companies leverage training dollars to meet their talent needs! The Going PRO Talent Fund, formerly known as the Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF) program, provides competitive awards to employers for training leading to increased employee productivity and increased competitiveness of Michigan businesses.

The Going PRO Talent Fund information sessions will cover:

  • Program Elements
  • Employer Participation
  • Eligibility
  • Allowable Training
  • Reporting and Metrics
  • Criteria for Funding Approval

The grant process is competitive and funds are allocated quickly. Employers in our region must submit an application through West Michigan Works! to qualify. A complete and accurate application is critical, and attending an information session is the best way to get started!

TrainX.AI is a Detroit based company that works to empower people by preparing them for the work force of the future.


TrainX's mission is to create a pipeline Artificial Intelligence engineers that are highly skilled, marketable, & industry ready. Not only does this entity educate people on how to learn new technology but they also strengthen their problem-solving skills which helps people to use this powerful new technology in an ethical highly beneficial way. BizStream Academy Summer Coding Bootcamp

Learn to code in BizStream's fun (and air-conditioned) office: BizStream Academy is an introduction to code in West Michigan. Learn useful web development skills from passionate mentors in a friendly, helpful environment. Get a mentor who will work with you to improve your code. Leave with new skills, a website you built yourself, and some super awesome swag. Important: Due to the learning curve and the pace of the classes, students must be at least 14 years old to attend BizStream Academy.

Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 PM ESTPlease note we have limited seats available. Registrations are on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Grand Circus DEVELOP(HER): Bootcamp Scholarship for Women

Grand Circus will be offering the DEVELOP(her) Scholarships at both their Detroit and Grand Rapids campuses. They will be offering 10 scholarships to women in 2018, which will cover the cost of one of their coding bootcamps.

Applications for the October DEVELOP(her) scholarships will open on July 16. We encourage anyone that is interested to apply through the bootcamp application process, applications for the DEVELOP(her) scholarship will close August 8.
